Phone: 386-226-6525 Embry-Riddle Again a Top Fund-Raiser in Volusia/Flagler Heart WalkDaytona Beach, Fla., Oct. 6, 2008 -- For the third year in a row, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University ranks as one of the most successful fund-raisers in the American Heart Association’s Volusia/Flagler Heart Walk. With its combined teams of faculty, staff, and students raising $18,000, Embry-Riddle came in second, topping more than 35 other companies and organizations. That amount includes $5,714 raised by Embry-Riddle’s College of Arts & Sciences/ROTC team, which finished second out of the 210 total teams. Many in the Embry-Riddle community made generous monetary contributions. Embry-Riddle fielded approximately 800 walkers out of the total of nearly 1,400 and served as a local sponsor of the Heart Walk. Chairing Embry-Riddle’s efforts was AbdulAziz Al-Hajeri, associate director of Systems Operations in the Records & Registration Office. The Heart Walk, which was held Oct. 3 on the oceanfront in Daytona Beach, raises awareness and funds for heart disease and stroke research and education. Embry-Riddle Top Fund-Raising Individuals
