Embry-Riddle’s World Fest 2008: A ‘Tour’ of the World Within Budget

Daytona Beach, Fla., Feb. 26, 2008 -- The public is invited to travel from Africa to Brazil to India -- no airline tickets or baggage inspections required -- at World Fest 2008, to be held Saturday, March 8, at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s Daytona Beach campus.

Dance, music, arts, and information will be available at booths and displays representing the different nations from which many of Embry-Riddle’s students come. Visitors will be invited to interact, participate, and learn.

Entertainment at World Fest 2008 will include:

  • Chinese dances performed by Kim Hardiman, an instructor in Embry-Riddle’s Language Institute
  • Musical styling by student Rohan Bhatnager, an Indian singer who recently released his first CD, titled Dholna (2006, Universal Music India)
  • Music of Central America played by student Elias Mourra Luna
  • A Brazilian martial arts demonstration
  • A big-screen exhibit of winning entries from two recent international photo contests General admission to World Fest 2008 is free, but specific booths may charge a small fee for some activities. Food will not be served. Activities will take place from 1-5 p.m. in the ICI Center (the field house), on South Clyde Morris Boulevard across the street from the main entrance to the campus.

    World Fest 2008 is sponsored by Embry-Riddle’s International Student Services.
